My kids love their bath bomb
s. Who else? I love bath salts and usually avoid bath bombs because I'm worried about perfumes and funky ingredients. So why do I let my kids use them, you ask? Ha! Good question. Usually they are gifts and I let them use them. Until the other day when Laura used the bath bomb she was given and got out of the tub with red blotches all over her skin. And itchy all over. So no more. Unless we make our own bath bombs. And that's what we did!
It's a very simple recipe. We even left the bath bombs white because of course I didn't want to use food coloring. Or really didn't want to take the time to make some all natural dyes, which you totally can do!
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
2 tablespoons laxative salt
3 tablespoons coconut oil melted
4 drops essential oil
1 teaspoon water or more (if necessary)
Mold or large ice cream scoop
In a large bowl combine baking soda, citric acid and lagoon salt. Stir well.
In a smaller bowl combine coconut oil and essential oils
Slowly stir the wet ingredients into the dry. It should achieve a friable consistency.
Your mixture is ready when you can shape it and it sticks together without falling apart. If it is too brittle, add water, 1 teaspoon at a time. The mixture should be dry, but able to hold its shape.
To shape the bath bombs, fill them into molds or large ice cream scoops.
Carefully remove and let dry on a baking sheet for about 8-12 hours.
Enjoy the bath!
Bath Bomb is organic
Unlike other bath products that contain chemicals, Bath Bomb is vegan friendly, which are irritants that can cause skin reactions. It contains softeners that help moisturize your skin and they are a great addition to your bathing regimen.
Organic Bath Bomb is formulated with weak baking soda and different essential oils for all skin types. Putting it in the bath water makes a fizzing sound and the fizzing will soothe and cleanse tired skin.
Contains many vitamins and amino acids
Bath bombs are known to repair the skin while giving it a youthful makeup. Aromatic bath bombs are known for the luxurious feeling they exude. Some bath bombs contain shea butter, which helps produce more collagen, leaving your skin looking colorful and wrinkle-free.
For healthier skin, you can use bath bombs that contain milk. While this may sound strange, milk is high in vitamins that help rejuvenate the skin and leave it feeling soft.
